Fix “USAA Quicken Error” with an OL-220 or HTTP 405 Error

Fix USAA Quicken Error

Quicken users downloading from USAA Federal Savings Bank via Direct Connect will receive an OL-220 error on Windows and an HTTP 405 error on Mac. All current (as of Jan 26, 2021) Direct Connect users must reconnect their USAA Accounts in Quicken using their newly updated servers due to a security update.

If you’re using Direct Connect with USAA Federal Savings Bank and get an OL-220 or HTTP 405 error, follow these steps to reconnect. You can still see an error for USAA accounts on the Quicken Mobile or Web App after completing these measures. This is a recognized problem, and we’re working with USAA to fix it as quickly as possible.

Step to Solve USAA Quicken Error on Windows and Mac

We’ve seen some problems that some customers are having (see the Known Issues section below). Although we’re working with USAA to resolve these issues, we recommend waiting 1-2 days before moving to the new USAA bank instance if you don’t need your transactions right away.

Quicken for Windows is a program that allows you to keep track of

Deactivate and reactivate the accounts that are affected, making sure to use the correct NEW bank name:

1.Go to Tools > Account List to access the Account List.

2.To open the Account Details window for any USAA account with an OL-220 error, click the Edit button near the Account Name.

3.Click the Online Services tab in the Account Details window, then the Deactivate button.

If you have more than one USAA account (checking, savings, etc.) Before attempting to reconnect, deactivate all of your profiles.

  1. In the same window, turn to the General tab.

In the Financial Institutions sector, delete the name. If you have several USAA accounts (checking, investments, etc. ), repeat the procedure for each account before attempting to reconnect.

  1. Go back to the Online Services tab and select the Set up Now… option.

6.In the search window, type in “USAA Federal Savings Bank – NEW” and hit enter.

NOTE: On the first screen of the Add Account flow, do not press the USAA button. To scan, start typing. Be sure to choose the NEW listing as well.

7.In Quicken, click “Get Access ID and Pin” in the yellow box on the right. This will redirect you to the USAA website.

NOTE: To connect via Direct Connect, you must use your USAA Access ID and Access PIN. Do not use your USAA Bank login credentials to access the website.

  1. Log in to the USAA website; if an error occurs, open a new browser window and return to the website to log in. You’ll see the choice to offer Quicken access to USAA after you log in. To see your Access ID and PIN, click Allow.

9.After logging into your Quicken account with your Access ID and PIN, you’ll be prompted to connect your downloaded USAA accounts to your existing Quicken accounts. The accounts should have automatically matched, but you can double-check on the Connection Accounts screen. The connection option should be selected. (Set it to Ignore if you don’t want to download an account.)

You should be able to download transactions into your USAA accounts again after following these steps.
