Manage Quicken Subscription

Quicken allows you to adjust your subscription tier to one that is more appropriate for your requirements. Upgrade or downgrade your subscription to accomplish this.

Important: Upgrades and updates are not the same things.

Updates are automatic and address known flaws as well as improve program functioning.

Your subscription will be upgraded to a higher tier with more features if you upgrade.

By upgrading, you will gain access to new features that are not available in your current subscription tier.

What you should know:

Upgrades are available at any time throughout your subscription term, but only once every 30 days.

When you upgrade, the prorated value of your old subscription value is added to the new subscription as additional time.

Once every 30 days, you can upgrade your subscription by redeeming an activation code found in a retail copy.

Instructions: Upgrade

In the My Account section of Quicken.com, you can upgrade your Quicken membership.

  • Use your Quicken ID to log in (email address).
  • Select Subscriptions from the menu on the left.
  • Select “Manage Subscription” from the dropdown menu. If the option isn’t accessible, click “Resume Subscription,” then “Manage Subscription.”
  • A Select Plan should be chosen.
  • Choose whatever subscription tier you want to upgrade to on the Change Plan page.
  • Complete the order by entering your payment information.

When you’ve finished your order, open Quicken and go to Help > Check for Updates. This ensures that the upgrade takes effect right away.

Downgrade

Downgrading your subscription will take you to a lower subscription tier with only the features accessible in that tier.

What you should know:

  • Only the last six months of a subscription term can be downgraded.
  • The cost of a downgrade is not prorated. The current membership plan will expire on its original expiration date, after which the new lower plan will begin.
  • You won’t be able to use Quick Pay or Check Pay if your membership is downgraded from a tier that includes free Quicken Bill Manager (Premier and Home & Business on Windows, or Premier on Mac) to Deluxe or Starter.

In the My Account section of Quicken.com, you can downgrade your Quicken membership.

  • Use your Quicken ID to log in (email address).
  • Select Subscriptions from the menu on the left.
  • Select “Manage Subscription” from the dropdown menu.
  • A Change Plan should be chosen.
  • To complete the modification, follow the on-screen prompts.

How to manage subscription membership auto-renewal

Your Quicken membership is set to auto-renew when it expires, so you don’t have to worry about losing access to your account. Follow the instructions below to cancel your auto-renewal. Click here for additional information about canceling and receiving a refund.

Checking the status of your auto-renew subscription

  • To get started, go to the Quicken My Account page.
  • To sign in to your Quicken account, enter your Quicken ID and password.
  • Go to the Subscriptions section of the My Account page and select Manage Subscription. If you see the word Subscription, instead of managing subscriptions, the auto-renew has already been turned off, and you don’t need to do anything further.
  • Select “Cancel Subscription” from the drop-down menu.
  • Select To confirm the change, I’d like to cancel.

The subscription status will change to Renewal Cancelled once the adjustment is complete.

If you want to turn auto-renewal back on, go to the same Subscriptions area and select Resume Subscription.

Find out when your subscription membership will expire.

Windows

You may check your Quicken Subscription membership expiration date at any time in Quicken or on Quicken.com.

  • Go to www.quicken.com and click Sign In > My Account in the upper right corner.
  • Put your Quicken ID and password in the boxes provided.
  • On the left, click Subscriptions. The plan specifics will include your expiration date.
  • Go to Help > About Quicken in Quicken.

Your Quicken version and membership expiration date will be displayed in the new window.

MAC

Quicken.com is a website that helps you manage your finances.

  • Go to www.quicken.com and click Sign In > My Account in the upper right corner.
  • Put your Quicken ID and password in the boxes provided.
  • On the left, click Subscriptions. The plan specifics will include your expiration date.

Quicken 

  • To learn more about Quicken, go to Quicken > About Quicken.
  • Look at “Membership Valid Until” in the pop-up window to see when your membership will expire.
